Madi Ditmars

Madi Ditmars is a South African anthropologist, who specialises in education. She is the coordinator of the minors' education and student affairs. She has an in-depth understanding of the challenges surrounding education and capacity building in contemporary Africa. Her experience ranges from customising curricula and material design, to the development of assessment strategies and quality control systems. Additionally she has a particular interest in local knowledge, sustainable human development practices, and integrated and inclusive planning.

Through her ongoing work for the University of South Africa (Unisa) she has expanded her expertise to the electronic learning environment. She has migrated existing learning modules to innovative blended- and online formats, tutors higher education students and moderates online learners.

Madi was involved in developing the LDE Minor African Dynamics and currently coordinates this minor as well as the LDE Minor Frugal Innovation for Sustainable Global Development.
