Presentation new ASCL research programme and new ASCL professors

On 9 October the African Studies Centre Leiden will be presenting its new research programme for 2018-2023 and introducing its new professors in African Studies. Professors Jan Abbink and Rijk van Dijk, who previously held chairs at other universities, will be taking up their chairs in Leiden and will present their teaching and research intentions. So will Prof. Chibuike Uche, chairholder of the Stephen Ellis Chair in the Governance of Finance and Integriy in Africa. Jan-Bart Gewald, new director of the ASCL and Chair African History, and Mirjam de Bruijn, Chair LeidenASA and Chair Expressions of Citizenship and Identity in Africa, will give presentations. Marleen Dekker will be giving her inaugural lecture as new Professor of Inclusive Development in Africa.
