Call for Applications: Collaborative Online Course on Advancing the SDGs

The African Studies Centre Leiden in partnership with the Leiden-Delft-Erasmus Alliance offers a 4 week SPOC (small private online course) entitled 'A Critical Engagement with Advancing the SDGs', under auspices of Professor Marleen Dekker from Monday 21 November  – Friday 16 December 2022.

The objective of this course is to develop critical, trans-disciplinary and innovative approaches to sustainable development initiatives.

The SPOC is presented as a virtual classroom for Leiden University, TU Delft and Erasmus University Rotterdam (LDE) bachelor students who are enrolled in the African Dynamics Minor, as well as a group of students from African Universities.

Representing multiple disciplines, they will collaboratively explore four key development planning approaches to address wicked sustainable development problems. The global classroom creates a space to mobilise knowledge from global to local scales across cultural boundaries. Through discussions and group assignments, theoretical knowledge is translated into practice from various perspectives.

Approximately 25 guest bachelor and masters students who represent a broad multi-disciplinary cohort from the African continent, will be selected to participate.

To apply, please compete the SPOC Application Form that serves as your motivation letter to be selected to participate and has to be submitted before Wednesday 2 November 2022

For any further questions, contact Madi Ditmars via MinorAfricanDynamics@asc.leidenuniv.nl.
