LeidenGlobal is a community of Leiden-based academic and cultural institutions. Its partners consist of two leading Dutch museums and five international research and teaching institutes, among them Leiden University. In terms of collections, research and educational programmes each of these institutes has expertise in specific areas of the world. The aim of LeidenGlobal is to strengthen the cooperation between the partner institutes and to develop a dynamic programme of research in comparative area studies and to organise public events.

In addition to the African Studies Centre Leiden and Leiden University, the partners are: International Institute for Asian Studies, KITLV (Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies), Museum Volkenkunde (National Museum of Ethnology), NINO (The Netherlands Institute for the Near East), and Rijksmuseum van Oudheden (National Museum of Antiquities).
