Web resources: keep eyes on Sudan
In April 2023 military violence erupted in Sudan between the armed forces, under the leadership of General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), under the leadership of General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, better known as Hemedti. Since that time, the violence has continued and spread throughout the country, taking the lives of more than 150,000 people and displacing more than 12,000. In recent months, the situation has deteriorated even further.
In Western media, the conflict in Sudan has received limited attention. In an attempt to make information on the conflict more easily available, the African Library has been keeping track of selected resources since the outbreak of the conflict.
