The volume examines the nature of systemic change and highlights innovative, context-specific approaches that can foster more equitable, resilient and sustainable urban futures. The book is co-edited by PhD researcher Mandipa Ndlovu and Prof. Shuaib Lwasa and also features a chapter authored by Victoria Manya.

Mandipa Ndlovu is a PhD candidate at the African Studies Centre Leiden under the Leiden University-University of Edinburgh Partnership. She is also a research analyst and policy consultant.

Victoria Manya is a PhD candidate at the African Studies Centre Leiden (ASCL) and is working on a research project in inclusive innovation entitled ‘The African Start-up Ecosystem: funding, informality, gender inclusivity and the trajectories of maturity’.
