Klaas van Walraven's work was cited in an article on AfriqueXXI about the coup in Niger, 'Entre le Niger et la France, un air de déjà-vu', by Rémi Carayol. The recent coup, orchestrated by part of the army in Niger, and the crisis which followed with France, recalls an event 49 years old: the putsch of Seyni Kountché in 1974.
