Jan Abbink was interviewed in a documentary by Al Jazeera about the history of islam in Ethiopia. In the documentary Abbink explains about the different narratives that that exist around the islamisation of the (initially Christian) Kingdom of Axum, and that there are surprisingly little historical sources about how this islamisation exactly happened.
