In the article, titled “Vijf redenen om Afrika te bestuderen” (Five reasons to study Africa), Tycho reflects on his academic journey and shares personal insights into why studying Africa continues to be both exciting and meaningful. Tycho, an alumnus of the Research Master African Studies, is currently assistant professor at the Netherlands Defence Academy and a guest researcher at the African Studies Centre Leiden.
