Jaouad Azaoui

Jaouad Azaoui is currently a postgraduate student of Political Economy of the Middle East (MA) at King’s College London. He holds a BSc in International Relations & Organisations and a propaedeutic diploma from the BA in Middle Eastern Studies from Leiden University. His research interests include Geopolitics, Security, Energy Politics, Inclusive Development.

Besides his academic experience, Jaouad has gained professional experience by interning at the North Africa and Middle East Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Within this department, he organized the first incoming Libyan trade mission since the Libyan civil war in 2011, wrote several reports on migration in North Africa and assisted policy officers with the creation of annual country strategies for all North African countries. After successfully completing his internship, Jaouad joined the Ministry’s Knowledge Platform on Inclusive Development Policies (INCLUDE) to work as a Student Assistant.
