André Leliveld

André Leliveld is a development economist and does research on informal insurance and social-support systems and community-based (health) insurance schemes in Africa, particularly in Togo, Uganda and Swaziland. His current research project in this field is a study of the effects of community-based health insurance in Togo on the economic well-being and health status of participants. More recently, his research has also included structural transformation processes in African economies and the effects on (youth) employment and labour protection.
