Vincent Bukenya

Vincent Bukenya is a PhD Candidate in Agroecology and Food Systems for the Uganda Martyrs University, Kampala. He holds a Master in Public Management, and he also studied in SDA Bocconi School of Management, Milan.

Bukenya's experience in humanitarian and development work with action research in East Africa is broad and includes Accountability and Policy in 10 Regional Cities, USAID/Governance Systems, International Refugee Response to the South Sudanese Situation in West Nile, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Uganda Tigray Complex Emergency Situation Response in Ethiopia (ERT Team), UNHCR Ethiopia Multi-Sectoral Reintegration and Complex Emergency Response, UNHCR South Sudan Emergency Response to Drought-Induced Displacement(s) in Karamoja, World Food Programme (WFP) Uganda Protracted Internal Displacement in Acholi, World Food Programme (WFP) Uganda Demobilization, Resettlement, and Reintegration Programme in Elgon Region, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Uganda Refugee Situation, Internal Displacement, and Early Recovery in Rwenzori Region, UNDP Uganda. His research interests are energy access, energy justice, refugees, household agency/vulnerability, humanitarian policy and practice, and communities at the margins.
