Olukayode Bakare
Dr. Olukayode Bakare is a scholar specialised in international relations and sub-Saharan African politics. He earned his PhD on international relations from the University of Aberdeen, UK, and has held teaching and research roles at various universities in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Dr. Bakare has played key roles in academic forums within his field and has presented at many international conferences. He is currently a visiting scholar and researcher in International Relations at the Department of Politics, School of Global and International Affairs, State University of New York at Oswego, New York, USA. He is also a Visiting Fellow in Security and Statecraft at the London School of Economics and Political Science’s Department of International Relations, UK. Additionally, he has served as a Teaching Associate, Seminar Leader, and Visiting Fellow in international affairs at Durham University's School of Government and International Affairs in Durham.
Dr. Bakare’s academic interests include foreign policy, democratization, security, development, international organizations, sub-Saharan African politics, and geopolitical issues. He is committed to educating others about the complexities and nuances of the African region, aiming to improve understanding of contemporary African challenges.
