Kelly Roos - Koutstaal

Kelly Roos - Koutstaal completed the Research Master African Studies programme at the ASC in Leiden (thesis: 'Blurred lines' : how different views on baboon agency shape the conservation policy making dialogue in Cape Town, South Africa) and is open to interesting academic/PhD opportunities. Coming from a rather diverse background (an BASc in Hospitality and Eventmanagement and a Pre-Master in Cultural Anthropology) she has continued to cross disciplinary boundaries with her MA research project, exploring the newly emerging interdisciplinary field of human-animal sciences. Her research explored the ways in which opinions about baboon agency (and animal agency in general) influenced the conservation policy making process in Cape Town, South Africa. Her research interests include conservation, humanwildlife conflicts, human-animal relations, social dynamics and ethnography.
