Inge Brinkman

Inge Brinkman studied History and African Studies (PhD, Leiden 1996). She has been carrying out research on socio-cultural African history, including projects on the history of development co-operation, war and mobility in Angola and communication technologies. She has published editions on mobile telephony in Africa with Mirjam de Bruijn and Francis Nyamnoh, Bricks, mortar and capacity-building (on the history of SNV), A war for people (on the war in Angola), Kikuyu gender norms and narratives (on literature and public debate in Central Kenya. Currently she is attached to Ghent University in the Kongo King project, while doing research on the history of the Kongo kingdom.
