Benjamin Njianga Mbeyap

Benjamin Njianga Mbeyap is a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Yaoundé II – Soa and holds a Master’s degree in Development Microeconomics. His research lies at the intersection of health economics and development, with a particular focus on the economics of blood donation in Sub-Saharan Africa. His thesis, titled “The Market for Human Organs: Essays on Incentive Mechanisms for Blood Supply in Cameroon,” explores innovative strategies to encourage voluntary blood donation.

From 2017 to 2023, he served as the National Coordinator of the African Programme for the Popularisation of the Digital Economy (PAVEN), in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education in Cameroon. In parallel, he remained actively involved in academia where he led tutorials in quantitative techniques and applied statistics at the University of Yaoundé II. His areas of interest include health economics and development studies, with a geographic focus on Cameroon and Sub-Saharan Africa.
