Adama Djigo

Adama Djigo is a historian and her research examines the history and sociology of cultural heritage in Senegal. She was promoted to the University of Paris-Sorbonne in France. Her PhD research, “Dynamiques et stratégies de conservation et de promotion du patrimoine culturel au Sénégal de l’administration coloniale à l’an 2000” (The Dynamics and Strategies of Conservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage in Senegal from the Colonial Period to the Year 2000), focused on the definition of cultural heritage in the scientific and institutional sense, and the way the native population recognizes cultural heritage. Findings of this PhD Thesis were published by L’Harmattan-Paris.
