Abstract

This article explains how Africa-specific dynamics of democratisation, state control, and mobility shape the creation of Africa's information disorder. By conducting expert interviews, the authors explain about existing studies on the continent's information disorder, explore the the concept of “factforwarding”, and highlight specific focal points to better understand disinformation practices in Africa.
