Acquisition trip Botswana 2018

In a 2 week visit to Botswana (18 september till 2 october 2018), the ASCL purchased books, newspapers and grey material in Gaborone, Palapye, Francistown and Maun. One of the highlights was the inspiring two-day Gabarone Book Festival. With a total harvest of 160 books, the results are a little meager, due to a lost shipment of 30 kg. Despite that misfortune, the library was glad to receive valuable research material from a small African country with a rich history. Noteworthy is a set of Kalanga primers and religious/cultural booklets purchased in the Francistown museum and donated to the Leiden University Libraries. Total number of items published in Botswana and part of the Leiden collection is now 832.
