Abdi Nunow stayed almost nine months at the ASC in order to finalise the manuscript of his PhD thesis entitled 'Market Dependence among Somali Pastoralists in Kenya', a research project funded by the Netherlands-Israel Development Research Programme (NIRP). Under the guidance of Prof. Jan Hoorweg (ASC) and Prof. Ton Dietz (University of Amsterdam), he managed to realise the planned output. During his stay he also had intensive discussions with the members of the Society and Resources in Africa theme group to which he was attached. He gave a seminar on 'Livestock Commercialisation and Food Security for Pastoralists in Northeast Kenya'.
