The African Studies Centre functions as a national centre for African Studies and contributes to education and teaching in the social sciences and the humanities.
The Centre offers a two-year Research Masters in African Studies, a number of PhD positions, a scholarship programme for African researchers and a regular seminar programme to which visiting fellows and other researchers contribute.
The ASC Library is well known for its vast resources of books and its digital library.
