2000:   PhD in Human Ecology, (Dissertation titled: Livestock Commercialization and Food Security for Pastoralists in North-eastern Kenya) from the Faculty of Environmental and Behavioral Sciences, University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

1994: Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in Environmental Planning and Management (Research was based on the agro-pastoralists along the Tana river in Garissa district, Northeastern province, Kenya) in Moi University, Kenya.

1990: B.A. Hons. (Double major in Economics and Business Studies) in Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya.
 

Employment history

Nov 2011-date: IPU-IGAD as the Director, Social and Environmental Affairs, Inter-Parliamentary Union of IGAD (IPU-IGAD), in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; responsible for the legal and institutional harmonization of Parliaments of all IGAD member states, regarding Social and Environmental issues in the region.
