François Janse van Rensburg

François Janse van Rensburg's research is on the Netherlands-South Africa Railway Company (NZASM) during the period 1887-1902. The company constructed most of the railway infrastructure in the northern parts of South Africa and was therefore instrumental into linking that region with the global economy. The company has featured in the recent exhibit at the Rijksmuseum, and is also the subject of some new research into the architecture of the company. With the company as a topic of renewed interest, Janse van Rensburg hopes to contribute by looking at the company from a economic and/or social historical perspective.
