Trudeke Vuijk

I studied anthropology at Leiden University, and carried out fieldwork in Botswana, Zaire (now DRC), Zambia and South Africa. My main fields of interest are gender and division of labour, family organization, ritual and myths. I have been a social science teacher in secondary schools and taught Dutch to immigrants in The Netherlands. At present, I try to interest a broad public for African culture and history. I give courses and am available for lectures (www.afrika-lezingenencursussen.nl). Also, I write a monthly column in an internet magazine (www.wereldvanculturen.nl).
