Rhoda Woets

Rhoda Woets is a cultural anthropologist who works as an assistant professor at Utrecht University College (UCU). Her PhD research (2011) explored the underlying ideological premises and contestations underpinning the category of modern and contemporary Ghanaian art since its inception in colonial times. She conducted research in Ghana on the appropriation of mass-produced Jesus pictures that circulate globally. Her current research looks into the global circulation and use of African wax cloth (prints).
