I received my BA in Geography from the Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. My Bachelor thesis focused on researching the public perception of China and Chinese actors in Zambia and Uganda, as expressed in local newspapers. I continued with various topics of Sino-African relations ever since. My Master thesis in International Development Studies at Utrecht University focused on the negotiation process for large scale land deals between Chinese and local Zambian actors. Currently, I am PhD candidate at Utrecht University. My PhD research focuses on the different ways how knowledge is created and transferred between various actors from China and Zambia. My main research interests revolve around the development inducing interaction between actors and institutions from the so called Global South.
