Pangmashi N. Yenkong

Pangmashi E.N Yenkong is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Courts of Cameroon and Nigerian, advocate of Social justice and a Dispute Resolution specialist. He equally doubles as legal director to the Settlement House for Dispute Resolution and Reconciliation (SHDRR).

He received his early education at the Presbyterian secondary school (PSS) Mankon before proceeding to the legendary CCAST Bambili for high school.

As a result of his plight for social justice, he read law and political sciences at the University of Yaounde II Soa.

After a spell of volunteerism as a paralegal staff in some of the human rights clinics in Cameroon, he traveled abroad for further studies at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands. He participated in the research masters program and after two years, earned an MA in African studies with specialization in socio-legal research.

In 2012, he was admitted and enrolled at the Nigerian Law School Abuja. Whilst in Nigeria, he earned a diploma in dispute resolution and was accredited as a certified dispute resolution specialist by the Settlement House Abuja. At the end of 2013, he was called to the Supreme Court of Nigeria as a barrister and solicitor.

After he returned to Cameroon, he was sworn in as a barrister, solicitor and public notary before the Supreme Court of Cameroon.

His career is shaped by his determination to improve the lives of his fellow citizens, and his commitment to social justice. He has carried out several researches in various principal and central prisons in Cameroon. Prior to becoming an advocate, he conducted an in-depth study on prisoners and their families’ perspectives of justice at the Bamenda Central prison.
