Jonathan Mensah Dapaah graduated with Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology (major) and Political Science (minor) from University of Ghana, Accra in 1994. In 2001 he obtained a Master of Philosophy degree in Sociology from University of Ghana, Accra. In September 2006, he took the position of PhD researcher at Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR), University of Amsterdam, under the supervision of Prof. Sjaak van der Geest. He has worked with Kintampo Health Research Centre in Ghana as research assistant. He also worked with Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana, a non-governmental organization working in the area of sexual and reproductive health as project coordinator. Lastly, he worked with Ghana Sustainable Change Project, a USAID sponsored project on malaria, infant feeding and sexual and reproductive health as monitoring and evaluation officer. His research interests are in hospital ethnography, culture and health, and qualitative methodologies.
