I obtained both my B.A. and M.A. Degree in History from Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria. Started working as a Program Officer in a USAID funded project with the Development Research and Projects Center, Kano. I moved to the academia (my Alma mater) in 2012 where I work as an Assistant Lecturer. My research interests are Kano royal history, Kano personalities, religious movements and media history. I was admitted as a PhD candidate at Leiden University, Institute of History, in September 2016. My proposed topic is Radio in Northern Nigeria, 1944-1979: A History of Propaganda.
