Alfred Lakwo

Dr. Alfred Lakwo is a Ugandan holder of a Ph.D. (Social Sciences) of Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands; MA (Development Studies) of Uganda Martyrs University, Uganda; BA (Hons) of Makerere University, Uganda. He has also attended a number of certificate courses in Livelihoods and Markets, Budgetary Management and Expenditure Control, Community Based Microfinance, Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction, Finance for Non Finance Manager, Research Management, Project Planning and Management, Participatory Rural Appraisal Methodology, Training of Trainers for Local Government, Development Planning, Management of District Development, and computing.

Currently, Dr. Lakwo is the Executive Director of the Agency For Accelerated Regional Development (AFARD) a local NGO that operates in West Nile region of Uganda. He is also a Tutor in the Virtual University of Uganda (Department of Development Studies) for Development Projects and Research Methodology for Development.

Dr. Lakwo has accumulated over 18 years of professional experience in parastatal, local government, academia and NGO sectors. His key interests are in Development Research and Management, Gender, Microfinance, Livelihoods, Rural Development, and Good Governance.
