Dick Foeken works as a human geographer and his main research interest at present concerns urban agriculture in Africa. He is currently involved in two projects, notably "School farming and school feeding in Nakuru, Kenya" (part of the "Nakuru Urban Agriculture Project") and "Water sector reforms and interventions in urban Kenya: The impact on the livelihood of the poor" (with Samuel O. Owuor).
