Country Meeting: Ethiopia

Registration for this meeting is closed.

This meeting on Ethiopia will discuss the recent crisis provoked by popular dissatisfaction and mass demonstrations, which have ushered in the declaration of an official ‘state of emergency’ by the Ethiopian government. At the meeting, background factors and contexts will be discussed of what is happening in the country, so far known as a fast-growing African economy. What was/is the nature of the unrest - why now and why so intense - and what are the trajectories toward stabilization, better governance and more inclusive development?

Two short introductions on current affairs will be given, followed by a moderated panel discussion with the audience.
