Scope note
In March 1994 the six leaders of the Central African Customs and Economic Union (UDEAC) signed a treaty for the establishment of an Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), which was to promote the process of subregional integration within the framework of an economic (UEAC) and monetary (UMAC) union. However, half of the members of CEMAC still have to ratify the founding treaty. Member states: Cameroon, Congo-Brazzaville, Gabon, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic.
