Serena Nasongo, Putting the house in order: Institutions and governance in the management of the Nyando papyrus wetlands, Kenya

There are multiple resources obtained from the Nyando papyrus wetlands and hence multiple resource users with different interests. Institutions governing the mamangement of these resources are thus diverse and arise from different sources. The situation in the Nyando papyrus wetlands, Kenya is one of legal pluralism rather than either one or the other, with very clear categories of institutions belonging to either formal or informal institutions. Some institutions are stronger than others are depending on the penalties and the enforcement agency.
