E-POS was a unique partnership between the Frans Masereel Centre, in
Kasterlee, Belgium and
The Caversham Centre for Artists and Writers situated in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands,
South Africa.
It provided an opportunity for a creative dialogue
between two continents and between visual artists and writers that resulted
in a unique print portfolio which transcends boundaries.
During November 2003, three-week residencies were hosted at both Printmaking Centres. At the Frans Masereel Centrum, Flemish
Art-Photographer Malou Swinnen and novelist Suzanne Binneman worked in
collaboration with South African poet Vonani Bila and
fine artist Fikele Skhosana. While at Caversham Centre, Flemish
writer-philosopher Frans Boenders, with compatriot fine artist
Linda Vinck, worked in partnership with Cape town-based writer Mavis
Smallberg and artist-musician Garth Erasmus.
Some of the prints are for sale (€ 200 each). A bound Portfolio of this
exhibition comprises 26 original prints including image and text, and can be
purchased for € 950.
The exhibition will close on 1 December 2005. Feel free to come and take
a look!
