Ebath N'Gbala was born in Côte d'Ivoire in 1958 but has been living in
's-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands since 1990. He studied the visual
arts at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Abidjan and the images in his
paintings are often based on his memories of Côte d'Ivoire and his love
of music and musical instruments. He has developed his own style of
painting and use of colour, and an African element is clearly
discernible in his work.
