This exhibit is now over. The prices, dates, places and external
hyperlinks on this page are not maintained and may no longer be accurate.
The photos in this exhibition were taken in Kenya by Wim Tuitert, a
photographer from Eibergen, the Netherlands. Some originally formed part of
a special exhibition entitled “H.I.V./H.eye.V”, an initiative by the Kenya
Network of Women with AIDS. The individual photographs are for sale as part
of a limited edition and special care has been taken with the choice of
frames. Some are aluminium; others are made of old wood.
Wim Tuitert has visited Kenya eight times, with his last visit being in
January 2005 when he took photos as part of a series about a centre for
women and children with AIDS. The country has won a special place in his
heart and he hopes eventually to settle there one day. He can be contacted
at Grotestraat 59, Eibergen (tel: 0545 477670).
The photos are hanging in the corridors and the library of the African
Studies Centre in the Pieter de la Court building, Wassenaarseweg 52,
Leiden. The exhibition is open weekdays from 9:00 – 17:00 until 21 February
2006. Feel free to come and take a look!
