
The African Studies Centre Library has a collection consisting of:
About 80,000 books and approximately 700 current serials subscriptions. Total serials holdings amount to approximately 2,200 of which approx. 350 online journals.
- About 1,700 online publications accessible via the catalogue
- Four daily African newspapers on paper, 40 newspapers on microfiche and 65 old African newspapers (1800-1922) online in the database African Newspapers
- About 1500 documentaries and feature films on video and DVD available to the public.
- 9,500 microfiches of development plans of African States.
- Grey literature: government reports, reports of international organizations, brochures, pamphlets.
- The online catalogue also contains titles of about 85.000 journal articles (many with abstracts).
- An online repository with access to more than 30.000 articles on Africa at www.connecting-africa.net
- Coverage of the collection: Geographical: North and Sub-Saharan Africa; disciplinary: anthropology and sociology; history; philosophy; economics, women's studies; political science; management and policy studies; law; administration; religion, education; socio-linguistics; literature and art.
